A bartender (also known as a barkeep or barmaid or a mixologist) is a person who formulates and serves alcoholic or soft drink beverages behind the bar, usually in a licensed establishment as well as in restaurants and nightclubs, but also occasionally at private parties.

Bar jobs include roles like a bartender, bar porter, host, server, and bar manager. In a bar job, you may work independently or as part of a restaurant to mix drinks, provide customer service to each patron, and monitor each customer's consumption of alcohol following local legislation.
